Job Description

The University of Arkansas System eVersity, established in 2014 and located in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a fully online university within the University of Arkansas System. It is the only public university in the state and one of few in the nation exclusively offering online programs with a full complement of customized online student support services. It is accredited by the Distance Education Accreditation Commission (DEAC), which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as an accreditor of institutions of higher education.

This position provides academic advising and delivers student success programs for 100% online students. In particular, the position assesses student academic and career goals, analyzes student records, explains degree requirements, and performs degree audits. It also monitors student academic progress, counsels students about academic decisions, documents student information, interprets and explains university policies and procedures, refers students to appropriate resources, conducts course registration, and performs various functions within the student information system. The position develops, promotes, delivers, and evaluates initiatives that support online learning and degree completion, and also assists students with the materials, skills, and strategies necessary for a successful job search. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Three years of experience advising students at the associate’s or baccalaureate level at a U.S. college or university. Demonstrated ability to work a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications: Three years of experience working in a fulltime academic advising position or other fulltime student services role.
