Job Description
The Award Specialist is responsible for setting up all Grant and Contract related Worktags (similar to a cost center) and Awards in Workday. The Award set up in Workday includes but is not limited to, setting up Grant worktags, creating new awards, maintaining and making modifications to existing awards per agreements with Sponsors, creating new subawards line items, and assigning cost share via worktags. Award setup requires coordination with members of the Sponsored Programs (OSP) Team and key stakeholders across campus. This position creates electronic folders for new Worktags to store related information and documents; requests new sponsors and subrecipients in Workday, and validating data with other sources; runs reporting in Workday related to grant and invoice management such as, reports that track and confirm award set up is complete and accurate and reports related to accounts receivable; assists Cash Management and the Treasurer’s Office in identifying where incoming funds should be deposited. Makes deposits to the Cashier’s Office and picks up receipts for lockbox transactions.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• The formal education equivalent of a bachelors degree in general business, finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience in Microsoft Office at an intermediate level, including Outlook and Excel
