Job Description

 

This position can sit in either Chicago or New York

Summary:

The Learning and Development Assistant is responsible for administering attorney training programs and providing administrative support to the Learning & Development department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Assists the Learning & Development staff to coordinate administrative tasks, conference rooms, invitations, and speaker logistics; assist the CLE coordinator with CLE requirements of Learning & Development programs

· Assists with Winston University Intensive Program event planning and logistics

· Maintains the Learning & Development Calendar and coordinates with colleagues in the Talent team to schedule programs and events

· Assists in administrative aspects of associate outside seminar attendance

· Assists the Professional Development Staff with engagement of outside professional development course providers

· Oversees program presentations, analyze attorney course evaluations and recommends adjustments

· Maintains associate class and practice group lists; update Learning & Development information on the Firm Website

· Assists with department budget reconciliation, expenses and invoicing, scheduling, correspondence, contacts, reimbursement, and travel arrangements

· Assists on other special projects as assigned, including working with the Director of Coaching on coaching programs and initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position:

· Bachelor’s Degree required

· One plus years of law firm or relevant professional services environment experience required

Competencies:

· Excellent understanding of technology

· Working knowledge of continuing legal education (CLE) requirements is helpful

· Working knowledge of CE Manager is helpful

· Excellent oral and written communications skills

· Excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy. Strong attention to detail

· Professional and positive attitude

· Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with lawyers, administrators, and staff across all offices, and outside service providers

· Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills

· Ability to handle multiple tasks
