The Intermediate Network Administrator is responsible for operations and maintenance support, network infrastructure and system support, and conducts project level tasks as assigned by senior staff. This position is responsible for maintaining security and patching network devices as necessary, supporting the Cloud virtual devices and supporting staff to complete their projects and assignments. The Intermediate Network Administrator provides network management and system administration for unclassified, classified and SCI networks to include backup and recovery operations and Tier 3 service desk technical support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
oInstall, configure, and maintain client network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls in an IT environment at a global enterprise level.
oMaintain up-to-date technical knowledge of the computing infrastructure in use at the client site.
oConduct installations, transitions, conversions, and cut-overs of network components and capabilities.
oProvide system administration for unclassified, classified and SCI networks to include backup and recovery operations and Tier 3 service desk technical support.
oProvide configuration, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows servers configured within an Active Directory environment.
oCreate detailed technical SOP’s, spreadsheets, and provides input for project plans.
oProvide creation, maintenance and deletion of user accounts, groups and rights within Microsoft Active Directory.
oManage Microsoft Group Policy within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
oManage DNS, DHCP, WINS, VPN, IIS and FTP services within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
oProvide security and system patching of Microsoft Servers and workstations.
oProvide configuration and troubleshooting of Windows print servers and queues.
oProvide support to include: creation of images, deployment of infrastructure (domain controllers, servers, cloud software support, CSR setup with assistance from network team)
oMust be a US citizen and possess a TOP SECRET clearance.
oMust possess a bachelor degree in engineering or computer science or related IT field and seven years of experience.
oRequire strong problem solving and project management skills
oMinimum five years of network administration experience in support of Cisco networking products, switches, routers, CSR’s, ASR’s, and other routing devices.
oProficiency with all aspects of Windows Server 2003, 2008 Active Directory Services.
oMust have understanding of the Border Gateway Routing Protocol (BGRP) and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE).
oKnowledge of CISCO routers and switches (networking technologies).
oHave experience with VPN encryption devices, such as Cisco routers, Cisco ASA’s and Nortel Connectivity.
oMust be able to troubleshoot network connectivity issues and resolve problems related to outages.
oMust be able to evaluate residing systems for network, system and security readiness as well as provide troubleshooting for application environment issues.
oDesired professional certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, MCITP
oLayer 1 Ethernet technologies including CAT5/6, single-mode fiber, and multi-mode fiber
oLayer 2 switching technologies including 802.1Q, VLANs, and STP
oLayer 3 routing technologies including dynamic routing protocols, Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) IP addressing, PIM routing, HSRP routing, Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)
