Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or other related field and prior Information Technology industry experience OR a Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science, MIS, Cyber-Security, or other related field. Community college teaching experience is preferred and an understanding of community college philosophy and the community college student is desirable. The instructor will also be responsible for course instruction and classroom management. Duties include, but are not limited to, teaching classroom and laboratory sessions, curriculum development/restructuring, assessment of student learning, and assess student learning outcomes in courses each term, and refer students to college resources.
Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and ability to work with diverse populations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use a phone and some travel, by vehicle may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred. Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.
